Well done, we are still waiting for our first courgette thanks to the slugs eating about 12 plants. So really well done!ashamomodablam wrote:won a first for my courgettes at the village show, got my chickens and just collected 2 eggs .aint life sweet
First we sow the seeds, nature grows the seeds then we eat the seeds. Neil Pye

Yes the simple things do give the most pleasure.
Congratulations on your courgette (and your eggs)
I have had similar issues with certain bugs eating every single courgette seedling. Then I managed to get one going and now I have two baby courgettes on there.
It's so exciting!

Well done, really well done! I thought about entering my elderflower cordial but couldn't get organised, there y'are.
We have four courgette plants and one actual courgette, which I'm watching like a hawk!

Ah not just three courgettes collected off the allotment but the first marrow and the first spuds. I've never grown any of them before so feel rather proud of myself.
Re: the good life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done! Its just a great feeling, dont you love fresh spuds? We are so pleased with all the produce so far this year. Had our first cucumber yesterday too, lovely!

Re: the good life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats! Yesterday I ate my first radishes out of the raised bed - nice and spicy, not like the rubbish you get in the shops! And today we got our first two eggs from our newly rescued ex-batts. Oh and I've been eating blueberries every time I pass my two pots of them

Well done with the courgette, mine were a little slow to get going but with the mix of quick showers and hot sun last weekend they have suddenly gone mad!
As for lifes little pleasures I truly agree! The more I grow and the more I read on here, the more I want out of the rat race all together! Still...... I can dream!
