Here's OH's latest attempt. This was an Ikea modern pine chest which is now (assisted by some pine from a tired old bunk bed set, some cheap metal hinges, knobs and a lot of wax) something I really like. It's now a lovely little dresser, complete with extra distressing to the right hand door which was a result of things not quite going as planned and being given an almightly slam which split the wood. All now repaired, planed off and well waxed. Now he is working on making a strange little oak gateleg table into a coffee table, a base for another little table and a spare pairs of legs for goodness knows what at some point. He is quite determined nothing will be wasted and so far we've almost completely renovated and redecorated the whole house for about €150.
