Hello

Post: # 11622Post emeraldeyes »

Hi , I am new to this forum.
My partner and I (he has registered too, but I will let him introduce himself when he logs on from his work PC ) are both enjoying this site and are taking time to browse through all the articles.
We grow some veg/fruit and have a few chickens in our garden and I am particularly interested in reducing waste and have recently joined freecycle too.

I am off to be nosey and catch up on the threads and articles now.

HI emeraldeyes and welcome. You might be interested in one of the little projects I am working on, its a waste diary. Basically in our house of three people we fill the standard size kitchen bin up once every three weeks and that is the total of our rubbish. We even have one of those bins that lift out so we don't have to use a bin bag.

Really is a work in progress but I hope to have it up there by then end of the month, then I will add to it sporadically.

Hi again,
Thanks for the welcome,
Well a bit about myself. I am 40 and have two cats Bluey and Rose.I live in Horncastle,Lincs.
We don't have any children.
I work part time for my brother in law's company as a receptionist (it is a household security firm )and am just learning more about being self sufficient.

I have lots to learn.

Andy - this is very interesting. I've got to do this for my OU course - perhaps we could compare notes.
