N Power - Problem with gas bill?

Post: # 115921Post MINESAPINT »

Sorry not an appropriate board for this enquiry but I hope someone can help. My inlaws have gas and their supplier is N Power. The billing arrangement is something like you get 1300 units per quarter at one expensive tarriff then other units are charged at a lower rate. Sorry I don't have specific info but if you have an account with N Power you will be aware of this arrangement. So at 1300 units per quarter this should be 5200 units per annum at the higher rate. Thing is when you look at 4 quarterly accounts they have charged about 6900 units at the higher rate. We wrote to N Power and received a totally unsatisfactory reply and are planning next move.

The apparent overcharge is in the region of £25 as far as we can see so not a major issue but we would like to bottom it.

Anyone else had same experience?

Who do we contact next?

Thanks

Hi yes I am having a nightmare with NPower! They never answer calls either, and when they do they put everything right, and then a week later you start getting letters again!

My bill is worked out in a similar way, and they have wrongly charged me nore than that! They have also demanded I have a meter, which is hard for me as a disabled person, as sometimes I can't go out! They set a date for this, and never came!

I want to build an eco house, that is as selfsuffiecient as poss! But I am about 3 years a way from being able to do it! So I am going to turn my rented house GREEN NOW! It is half way there any way. But I am going to try for solar and turbine power, can anyone help?

Also having issues with N p*wer - too long winded to give you the full detail but we closed both gas and electric accounts when we moved house. They continued taking unauthorised direct debits, that resulted in us being charged for being overdrawn.

They then decided to reopen the old electric account and send us another bill for £78 odd. I sent them a letter asking what was going on. They sent me numerous threatening letters with the good ol' bailiff threat. I rang up and told them to stop sending me threats as I was finding them 'offensive' to say the least.

Have since stopped using them at the new property but they can't seem to distinquish between our old account at the old property and the new one where we are now.

Good news is - they keep sending us cheques for underspend on our direct debits but they still haven't resolved the problem of the mystery re-opened accounts.

Imbeciles!
