Hello Self Sufficient People! I'm from Arkansas
I've been on a quest for about 1 year now. My goal is to become more self sufficient. I have moved out of the city and back to my farm in the Ozark mountains. I say back, because that is where i grew up.
I am using my Brains and Motivation... BAM! to make ends meet. I am growing most of my food. I have 39 head of cattle, some pigs and chickens. I found 10 wild turkey eggs the other day when I was out baling hay. I put them in the incubator and can't wait till they hatch.
I hope to become a regualar here, and learn much from all of you.

Turkeys! How wonderful! Let us know how they progress.
I mentioned to my 4 yr old granddaughter the other day that we too could have a few turkeys - conversation goes as follows:
Me: We could have a few turkeys too - think how nice xmas dinner would be this year!
Her: Ooohh, nanny - what about fish for xmas dinner?
Me: But sweetie, you don't even like fish!
Her (full of indignance): I like fish fingers!
Hmmm..... methinks she has a LOT to learn...... although I still have visions of me on xmas day getting the Birds Eye pack outta the freezer... sigh!
