Re: Hanging baskets?
I got some pepper plants last week, so you might still be able to get some tomatoes from a garden centre.
I also thought that strawberries were best planted in the autumn, so you could wait until then, though I don't know if it's the same in hanging baskets. Might want to wait for someone with more knowledge than me...

They're not weeds - that's a habitat for wildlife, don't you know?

salads? maincrop peas?
if I were nearer you could have some of my tumbling tomato plants, the seeds seem to have been in stasis and have just popped up in the last couple of weeks
If you know anyone coming your way from anywhere near Andover/Salisbury give me a shout

Re: Hanging baskets?
I wonder if you could grow some runner beans?? They run upwards so why not downwards too.
First we sow the seeds, nature grows the seeds then we eat the seeds. Neil Pye

Re: Hanging baskets?
I have four hanging baskets - one with flowers, two with strawberries and one with yellow 'tumbling tom' tomatoes.
The tomatoes are doing exceptionally well actually... I recommend trying them.
