Yes, We managed to get our allotment!

My first year with sweed too, I did them in pots mainly because of the weeds. Everything apart from onions, garlic and potatoes and carrots was in pots. I had a friend who took over a plot in a similar state and it was on her advise. I put a fair amount of horse manure on the plot and although the plants are doing well so are the weeds and of course they grow quicker than the plants.

The rows you can see are onions then garlic (planted November) then more garlic, onions and some shalotts (planted March).

Early potatoes have flowers starting to form, very exciting!

Hi all, very wet at the moment

Thought I would upload some progress pics (from dry day).
I have some nets to take up the plot this weekend for the fruit etc. Bound to be some weeding to do too

Going to dig up some charlottes in a couple of weeks will take the camera.

Hi all the plot seems to move on so much in a few weeks.

We have been eating various bits from the plot already, very exciting as we are in the season of picking onions, garlic, caugettes, lettuce, peas and new potatoes. Lots of herbs ready to pick too.

The main job we are finding is weeding being relative newbies to the plot this seems like a neverending job. I think we are starting to make an impact.

Horses doings and lots of it! I did leave them in the green houe until they got reasonably big too. I did pick some last weekend, very nice.

My yellow ones are still pots of mud!

Oooooooh you are so far ahead of me - it's the down south effect I suppose. My allotment is just beginning to look full and productive (http://www.flickr.com/photos/flohewitt/ - taken within the last four days) but you are still miles ahead.

Very good time of year, weeds seem a bit less stressful and lots of harvesting to do. Still no mange tout or peas to bring home but do keep eating them while up working on the plot.
The onions were massive and we had loads of shallots (which I thought would be later) and tons of garlic bulbs (I thought these would be earlier). Looking forward to more potatoes, peas and runner beans this month. Of course more caugettes and salad. The Cherries look like they will only be a couple of weeks and the summer raspberries are later than the autumn ones
