? could a heated propagator be an incubator?

Post: # 11084Post glenniedragon »

Just pondering.....has anyone ever taken the air temp in a heated propagator, or what humidity they maintain? I was wondering if there was any way of tinkering around with one of these to make a homemade egg incubator?

kind thoughts

Dunno Deb, but here are some interesting links to home made incubators, I hope that they are of use.

Thanks for the links Nev! How does incubating work over there? do you have to have cooling bits and thingies? if the temp goes over 40 degrees?

just pondering

Dunno, mate! I havent tried it yet, the closest I got is buying day old chicks and brooding them up to adults - they are now the ones in my chook tractor - but in the fullness of time I want to give it a go!
