Hello All.
We have 3 delightfull pigs. 2 are male castrated and 1 is a gilt. The two males are about 1 year old and the gilt is about 6 month.
The person we bought them off said there wasn't any injections but worming is neccersary when you see a worm or the symptoms.
Is she correct?
Thanks Tom

Re: Kune Kune Pigs
Hi Ivermectin injectable(may not be called that in the UK) will treat internal and external parasites, dosage will depend on their weight, do not under drench or it won't work and all you'll do is allow the parasites to build up resistance. So get the dosage right. Can you buy pig weight tapes there??
As with any treatments you should discuss your options with a vet first.
danndanns thats a new one on me about the tails lol! Whether a kunes tail is curled or straight depends on the pigs! lol

Re: Kune Kune Pigs
I dont worm mine untill the tails have just started to straighten out
Then they either get panacure or injected with ivomectin. You can get weigh tapes here, for horses and cattle but i'v not seen one for pigs.
you can calculate there wieghts tho by lentgh by girth but not sure weather ts times add or multiply
shall have to look it up somwere, i have got it but lost it somewere on here
