hmm difficault one...

Tea
Tomatos
Cow (I like this adding the entire animal under the "one food" section...)
Chocolate
Pasta

That's assuming that herbs and spices come on the island...

Hmm... not even much of a way to cheat by taking "edible seeds" either... really hard!!!

hmmm

Chocolate
Pasta
A Cow (a proper living one)
Maize
some potatoes (proper, raw uncooked ones).

My plan is to plant a couple of potatoes somewhere (preferably where i won't want them next year...then i can guarantee a good crop...), use the cow for milk to make cheese and drink.

And i'll smuggle lots of seeds in in my back pocket.

Can I have cheesecake for all 5? No? Hmmmm...

1. Spinach or chard or something of that ilk. They're probably my favourite vegetable.

2. Tomatoes. Of many varieties, including green types. I love them fried, Cajun-style. At least I think its Cajun-style!

3. Cheese. Anything vegetarian and organic, but especially mozzarella, feta, goat's cheese, halloumi and Caerphilly.

4. Nuts/Seeds. Especially walnuts, hazelnuts, pinenuts, pumpkin seeds and hempseed.

5. Hoummous. I'm addicted to it at the moment...
Harm None!

There doesn't seem to be a lot of agreement on what is "a food"! There's anything from a whole cow to tea up there...

I think you could live quite well (i.e. healthily, and with some kind of variety) with the following:

Milk
Eggs
Potatoes
Onions
Wheat

I'll join with the others and say a cow - infinately useful not just for it's milk but also for the fertiliser!
Bananas
Tomatoes
And a magic porridge pot!
