Hi there!

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hi there!

Post: # 108889Post kathleen »

Hi, I'm Kathleen & I live with way down in New Zealand on a biodynamic vineyard with my husband and 2 cats... We're working on being more self sufficientish! Living out here is great, since the vineyard is already organic & biodynamic we don't have to worry about nasty sprays or any of the other hideous things usually encountered on a vineyard, and we have a good source of compost for our vege garden as a bonus. Since NZ is borderline running out of power for the winter (most of the energy in the country comes from hydro, and the lakes are empty...), we're on a mission at the moment to not use any power after 6.30pm, and it's actually really nice sitting by the fire & finding ways to amuse ourselves! Loving reading through the bits & pieces on this site, fantastic stuff! :flower:

Hiya Kathleen - welcome! Sounds pretty serious, your water shortage... :? Actually, we could do with a bit more here, too - just for watering purposes, though.
