Gunners, when are you putting your spuds in? I won't put mine in until April so don't want to buy them until March. Last year I bought in February and they chitted in the cold dark cupboard they were in and the sprouts were 3" long when I planted them!
my seed potatoes have arrived how do i store them till march

I think it's the possibility of disease as the seed potatoes are usually certified with something (disease resistance? not sure!). Perhaps they have been sprayed with all sorts of horrible chemicals?
I'm too new to potato growing to really know.

well milly the old boys put theres in march,middle march for earlies and main crops a week later. these guys been at it 40 yrs some of them so i follow the crowd if a frost cover with fleece or straw or old curtains.but everyone is in diffrent areas. you can still have frosts in april and may so so i keep one eye on the weather.
