Want an alternative to chemical based nit shampoos??
Would you like try to an all-natural, organic alternative?
If so BBC TWO needs you to take part in a new series about natural medicines!

Shouldn't be too hard to do in London - I caught the beasties at the ripe ol' age of 26, courtesy of London Underground!
If you've got a Nitty-Gritty comb, you don't need owt else.....

I took my dog to play frisbee. She was useless. I think I need a flatter dog.

I imagine that the majority of people on this forum might have tried a non chemical alternative... I know I have when my son had the wicked beasties!
Interesting idea for a programme though (but would have been nice to ask before posting your request) - let's hope that the message gets across to the folk that are happily plastering chemicals onto their children's heads and creating headlice that are increasingly immune to the chemicals.
Agree that the nitty-gritty is very good indeed - along with delacet, neem shampoo etc. I'm sure we've got a thread on this somewhere.

Did you contact the moderators before posting a public request?
Common courtesy would have told you to do so.
There are plenty of natural alternatives to nit shampoos already. Olive oil being the main one.
Ask around and you'll probably find that MOST of the users on this site know of a natural remedy.
I'll start them off: Hot Olive oil treatment with Tea Tree (the olive oil smothers them, and the tea tree makes the eggs fall off).

If you want people who wont be so into the natural methods, try www.emmasdiary.co.uk just ask Redhorse Marketing first or you'll be kicked off with no answers at all.

When I lived at home with the clan, we used to find that a comb to get them out and tea tree oil to keep them out was the only thing that worked... and that was discovered long before we started going eco-friendly!
I remember once having to turn up at school with my head covered in chemicals cos mum didn't have time to wash it out in the morning! Horrible stuff, and they didn't all die out, either.
