nope i don't smoke!! but there was someone staying here that smoked outside so...

Well I can't rule out the over fertilizing factor as I don't have any reference photos of what a posined plant looks like. The roots looked white and firm and weren't black or slimey.

I'm sorry you lost your plants, and can feel for you the frustration! Hope you have better luck next time. Can you buy small plants from your garden centres/ markets etc. there? Sometimes it makes more sense to buy these if you don't have a greenhouse or really suitable conditions for raising plants from seed, especially for plants like tomatoes and peppers.
