Has just boiled - tea or coffee?

Well, if that's the right thing at the moment, then go for it. Can't you let out the raised beds in the tunnel to more neighbours/friends? Kind of under cover allotments for those who can't afford their own tunnel? It would be a shame to give it all up - you've invested so much in that (not just money); I've always admired your photos of your wonderful beds...

Ina letting others use the tunnel is in my mind. We live half a mile from the village and I could see one immediate down side - on very windy nights, it would be me going up and checking the tunnel was OK in my pyjamas (Nev has set a trend!) and not the people using it. My smaller tunnel in the garden would be sufficient for our own needs.

ATM I am watering and checking my friends plants daily - she is a noob to growing veg and has two children so does not get to the tunnel as often as she should. Thats OK with friends, but would I be able to do that if there were say half a dozen people from the village using it and not showing up 'cos it was cold/rainy or there was the dreaded football on the telly....

I need to think about this come the end of the autumn and work out what will be best to do.

Just caught on to this one. Congratulations with the job. Do what you need to do to be happy and fulfilled - but don't be a stranger!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Make it into a community tunnel? I.e., folk would have to pay a certain amount to "buy in", but also have "duties" on a rota... Although, that might bring up problems with responsibility and blame given to anybody who didn't do their "duty" according to what others thought it should have been...

Or you'd have to charge more and then put up with always being the one who does the checking/watering etc.
