I am reading this thread and I have made some changes after the feedback, but I am not planning on pleasing everyone
if you experiencing anything too strange press Ctrl and f5 , that will refresh ALL the code that makes the page, if it still happens then tell me.
BTW this design was tested before going live, but there will still be bugs

I've just opened a new tab, then came back to this one and the words were all scrunched up that is until I scrolled. Doesn't go funny every time though.

the font does appear to be very much smaller - it does fit my screen fine but I've got a wide screen monitor. Oddly, the font under the window when I'm composing a message (where you are given the options for posting) is a lot larger than the font I'm typing with.

John, I realise you're still working on it, but from where I'm sitting it's all over the place. Different pages have differing font sizes and, try as I might, I cannot find a comfortable screen size/legibility ratio. At the moment, it's almost too uncomfortable to use.
EDIT: And I've just noticed that if I do change my screen zoom factor, all of the mini-icons and emoticons move away from their assigned positions.

Sorry to be a pain (I am a developer so am only too painfully aware how impossible it is to please everyone). But can we have the forum a bit narrower please, even on my widescreen monitor I have to scroll sideways to be able to navigate to the various pages.
thats with IE7 & Vista if it makes any difference.
Thanks

How hard can it be, how long can it take. What could POSSIBLY go wrong
I haven't been on all day, so didn't notice any of the font size stuff.... but the forum isn't any different to me
If I tilt the screen back I can see more green (and of course the layout at the top) but apart from that I didn't notice a thing...
I am on a laptop with firefox though so I guess that is why
