I'm looking for ones that won't harm my tropical fish. Anyone have any suggestions?

Basil....in the high summer the old men round here keep a sprig tucked behind their ears!

I always burn citronella candles in the summer to deter flies, but I don't know if these would affect your fish

Garlic is supposed to be good.
I use Elder around my horse, you could have a 'bunch' int eh house?
