Brassicas do best here under fleece - but that increases the temperature, too. Might not be a beneficial side effect for Australian conditions!

Oh Gawd! Why is it that until someone mentioned those darn cabbage butterflies I hadn't seen a single one... and yet now they are everywhere -so much so that when I was out planting my brassicas ( :cheers: ) before I'd had a chance to water them in, the butterflies were already there :shock: .

Oh, and don't get me STARTED on the local cats.... :roll:
