not to eat but to make a salve or ointment,my dh suffers from gout and arthritis in his ankles,and have found out by researching different herbal books that this would possibly help,i also found it good for psorisis which is also in my family,i hope to make some and keep it in the cupbourd till such...

i have been given some comfrey roots,do i peel the black outside layer off first or not?i was going to dry it for medicinal purposes,as i have seen recipes in the book` back to eden,or going to grate it and freeze it,anyone done this?

I hope to get a polytunnel soon,just trying to find the right one,but i never thought i could get a return on it?to me growing your own is brilliant but cost wise not that much of a saving,am i wrong?

sorry,mine have had a good peck at each other till they sorted out who`s boss but never killed one or drew blood,end of october i`m getting 3 ex batts,i believe they can be nasty at first so they are going in a pen by themselves,dont expect i`ll be able to introduce them to the others,i have been to...

not sure about the metal,i was told not use it,i got a cheap plastic one from the euro shop and covered it with nylon curtain net,got a lot for my money too,

i now have 7 chickens and they have taken to stretching their necks out and have eaten the leaves completely off 3 parsnip plants,i dont mind just wondered if it was ok for them,not too happy with my parsnips anyway as tons of leaves but diddly squat parsnips,

yes,saw some little plants in a garden centre in cork,8 euro`s each!!! and i`m not paying that,especially as neighbours of mine think i`m crazy to plant them anyway as they have tried to rid themselves of theirs,sadly their gorse bushes are to big to dig up and replant :( and i want at least 5,now i...

yes,i fed my chicks boiled potato peelings till i read on 2 poultry sites i found, that it gives them the runs :( but now i have boiled up soya beans and dried corn to make a mash and this ive frozen in bags ,this i give a little in the afternoon to suppliment the layer pellets and grubs they dig up...

bluebell sounds a lovely name,i`m afraid all our chicks now have names and that means they wont be going on our plates,the kids are cuddling them and we had a little lad in yesterday to see them,he has learning difficulties and when he picked up hennypenny she put her head on his shoulder and stayed...
