Nettles?
Below is a link to a forager who will eat most stuff, and give you the recipes.
He'll tell us all what to do with nettles

Hi TG, All joking apart, that poly tunnel is an absolute credit to you, and something for us all to admire. Thanks for sharing it. Back to chuckling, can I book it for me hollidays, two weeks in August  Makes me tubs and planters in me back yard look like the Beverley Hillbillies. :chee...

Why can't they boil down the idea to its basics? The bods are already there so you don't need additional staff. We have an "unofficial" method here, instead of bunging it into the muck, you leave potentially usefull items this side of the fence for possible collection. S'pose a councillor ...

Supporting stuff that needs supporting, Beans etc

Apart from the recent hoolie that has been flattening most flattenable plants, what is the proper way to support Broad beans and tomatoes etc? At the mo' they are about 8-10inches tall, the toms are in their own little planter and me beans are dotted around a large planter as a thinned-out mob. Do y...

New boy don't know

Hi Guys,

It is probably something discussed since time began, but.............
Do you run a seed exchange?
Most growy types have stuff left over and stuff they want.
Is a "Give and Take" section already in operation?

To be honest I could beat this topic until I got an ulcer but I won't. Not a problem that the guys who work at the dump get first sniff, my local auction sells what they salvage. Wood, bricks, glass, all kinds of stuff costs a fortune, good stuff is being dumped. I know the H&S sweat blood over ...

Even when they split the stuff, as ours does, there are still things which are too good to chuck.
I know the guys there take saleable gear, good on them, but it really bugs me that they are still dumping stuff in landfill that could be used.
I'm ranting now, sorry

Don't neccessarily chuck it away

I know very well that I am preaching to the converted. After some dabbling on the Freecycle network I wondered if it could be extended. When I go to the recycling centre/tip, I see stuff thrown away that has just outgrown its usefulness to ONE person, eg I am after some wood and someone has chucked ...

Hi Guys

Hi, My name is Ken from Todmorden in the old West Riding of Yorkshire. Me and my much better half have just moved out into the "sticks" and this grow as much as you can ideal has finally got a chance to be made real. One thing I have just read is an article by "Mike" on keeping h...
