Just North of Oban, on the croft, we grew a good crop of Golden Wonder last year along with Sharps Express and some Arran Pilots.....

Excellent, thanks all. Think might just make a giant polytunnel. Then again, have just spied my weedburner, I dare say a touch of the butane flame around its nether regions might do the job.....

Sorry to be blunt, but how do I stop the next doors sodding cat shitting in my raised beds. I have spent ages setting them up as a kitchen garden, and I have observed the F***ing feline select the best bed, with the best soil, then dig a hole, take a lovely long shit, then the crafty b*****d covers ...

Hello. I live on the coast North of Oban. We've got a wee croft and I forage the mussels etc from the shore. Along with a creel or two...and we dine like kings..

Just installed a 12KW multifuel stove with back boiler at the croft here at Benderloch near Oban....let me know if you are still having dramas finding a sweep etc, I know a bloke in Oban who sweeps chimneys/installs stoves/builds fireplaces etc and who is 100% reliable. Thanks folks, some really good info here. We've got a wee croft which we are trying to enlarge, with the eventual view of giving up my hideous day job and being entirely self supporting....

We've just installed a 12Kw Multifuel atove here at the Croft in Benderloch, Argyll...it wasn't straightforward as we had to remove a 50's open fireplace and wrap around boiler then plumb the multifuel stove boiler into the old system. There are a few pitfalls but we had professional help from a loc...
