Re: Making raised beds

Did I say 12 x 8? Sorry, I meant 12 x 4, for exactly that reason. 12 x 4 is the deimnsion of the bed in the gardenfork.tv video.

I reckon we've got room for about 6 beds, and I'm currently following up Big Al's suggestion above.....

Apologies! And thanks for replying..

Re: Making raised beds

Nice thought....I've been a member of Freecycle here twice now, and last time resigned because I got pulled up for posting what was said was a duplicate post (it wasn't).

I have a feeling your face has to fit if you want to be on Yeovil Freecycle for very long. but thanks for the suggestion!

Making raised beds

Does anyone know of a good *cheap* source of scaffold planks? I have to make 6 12' x 8' beds along the lines shown on gardenfork.tv, and need to find a supplier who won't break the (limited) bank.

Greetings from Somerset, England

Just a quick line to introduce myself. I am 55 and live in beautiful Somerset in the South West of England, where I am married to the even more beautiful Emma. Together we are committed to living a self sufficiently as possible, and although we have taken only small steps so far, we plan to lengthen...
