Wattleseed or accacia pods

Anyone know which if any accacia pods are poisonous? There's an accacia near my home with lots of pods, I read some kinds are edible and called wattleseed, but how do I know if these are them?

Re: Any brassicas inedible?

As for the differences, the leaves on the ones I picked seem to stop and start with small little lobes attached to the stem and then bigger ones and bigger ones, and they're in a rosette of sorts...

I still am not sure 100% that its the rapacina- the leaves look different...

Re: Any brassicas inedible?

Cima di rapa is from the same subspecies as the turnip, so should smell a bit turnip-like. Here's some I picked this morning, although these are cultivated so the heads are bigger. http://www.growveg.info/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=156293 The wild variety has hairier leaves, but is still edible. If...

Re: Any brassicas inedible?

Your picture is a little too small to tell, but it looks like cima d rapa selvatica to me and it's full of nutrients (the Italian poor have lived off wild rapa and cicoria for generations). If the flowerhead is yellow it will have a proper punchy, mustardy flavour to it and if it's white it's still...

Turns out its a squill. Medicinal squill. And apparently its a diurrhetic if used in small quantities, but is toxic in large quantities. Aka sea onion.

Re: All amaranth edible?

By the way, a closer look at the leaves shows a lighter, whiter horseshoe shaped area. You can't see it so clearly in the pics.

Re: Any brassicas inedible?

When I wrote inedible, I meant non nutritious and or dangerous to eat. Not just "tastes bad" as people think of broccoli, etc... ;)

All amaranth edible?

I found some greens growing near my house that look very much like an amaranth, but it didn't match up exactly to any of the pictures, but has the same type of flowers as one, same leaves as another... Are there any poisonous amaranths or no?

Any brassicas inedible?

I'm pretty sure that what I have growing near my house is wild turnip/rape aka brassica napus. Its fits the description written here but none of the pictures are exact. http://www.luontoportti.com/suomi/en/kukkakasvit/wild-turnip Its flowers look exactly like that, but the leaves are a drop differen...

Re: Is this edible or poisonous? Is this a lily?

Lol, I didn't just randomly dig up whatever plants I came across. I was on a nature hike and I'd read about some lilies being edible, that looked about right, but then when I saw it had a bulb, I wasn't sure...

Is this edible or poisonous? Is this a lily?

I live in the mediterranean. I saw something that looked edible. Don't worry, I didn't eat it because I can't be sure. What plant is this? It looks like a lily, which is edible (right?). But is it a lily or a poisonous dafodil? http://lh5.ggpht.com/_qRYacb5r2zM/TQ-YMlVbsoI/AAAAAAAABCA/dFzNMZOPfQ0/s6...
