Re: can't identify a fish!!Help please!!
The stream they came out of is clear and cold so its possible. They both have the white spots, one more than the other,we have never seen baby fish so it's possible they could both be males.

Re: can't identify a fish!!Help please!!
I am still not a hundred percent clear what they are. The photo on here is exactly what they are like and they have been the same size for a year or two. They appear to live quite happily with the newts, water snails and other things in the pond. Dont really see them in winter just in summer when the...

Re: Rose Hips
I would say also that hips are normally more oval shaped than what you describe. Could they be haws? which are round and red.
Again I would also suggest like an above answer,to see if the irritating bits are there.
Good luck.

Re: Peppers questions
I have grown peppers for a few years now under cover in a polytunnel. The green colour will change to yellow and then red as the pepper fruits mature, so you can basically pick and eat them at any stage. I have to admit I have never picked off the floers ,I just leave them until fruit is big enough ...

Re: How do I use a Spinning Wheel?
Thanks Niele for all that info, much appreciated. I am using Herdwick fleece which I have washed and carded as best as I can. I have done what you say and had a go at spinning but so far I am making what I understand to be a newbie mistake and getting too many twists or little bobbles in the wool so ...

Re: How do I use a Spinning Wheel?
Thanks for the reply, yes I have carding panels, the wheel came with extras. I also have what I believe is a niddy noddy and loads of other bits of wood which I think is some form of loom, also several shuttles. I have looked up what you suggest on youtube and I think it will be most helpful. :icon_smi...

How do I use a Spinning Wheel?
I have today purchased for a low price an Ashford spinning wheel. Now I need to know how to spin.
Does anyone know of any courses in Dorset or of any good books that they would recommend.
I was shown a few years ago but have forgotten how to!
Would be grateful for any suggestions.

Baytril ? for mycoplasma in chooks
I am interested in what people think of Baytril for chickens who have Mycoplasma. After a visit to the vet last week I was given a powder to put in with the water for 7 days - no egg withdrawal. AS this has not cleared it up I went back to the vet and he prescribed Baytril. I know that some countrie...

This I finished this morning and she is still sneezing and a bit gunky eyed so have just spoken to the vet again and we will try some more antiB's which I will pick u...
