Swede or Turnip also Marrow

Hi there,

I like to peel Swedes and Turnip, slice them about an inch thick, smear a little Olive Oil on them, salt and pepper them, place on a baking tray and bake them, Nice.

I do the same with Marrows, which I always find as a difficult to plan foodstuff. 8)

Slugs

Yep, they are edible, but they are not what you think as far as flavour goes. I have eaten them, raw, as a soldier, do not reccomend them raw or cooked. :pale:

bottles

Hi Monty,

When I need empty bottles for a cordial I wash and sterilise plastic, four pint, milk containers.
They are OK so long as there is no pressure and they will allow freezing. And yes, I am a cheapskate

soapnuts

Hi, As thje soapnuts are grown and collected in Southern India, where the climate is sub tropical, it is vaguely possible that a greenhouse would allow the seed to germinate but, (always a but) the tree grows to 15 metres tall. I am not into Bonsai but, I reckon it could be stunted by the size of po...

Hi Everyone, A request here for your knowlege and help. Does anyone at all have or know of a recipe for Elderflower Ale. Hi there, and Croeso i chi, (welcome to you),

The name had me worried for a while there. Thought it was my first wife but then realised that soil and smart figernails don't quite go together so you had to be someone who likes nature more than stores.
