Choc Treacle Stout - 23/12/07

OG1055
Eff 70%
86 EBC 52 IBU
estimated 5.6% ABV

Pale Malt 5.08kg
Roasted Barley 470g
Black Treacle 260g (upped to 300g)
Wheat Malt 240g
Chocolate Malt 160g

Mash 68C for 60 mins

Northdown 60g 60mins

Boil 60mins

Yeast 2x S-04

Firstly i steep the grains at between 66-68 degree C for 60 mins to extract the sugar from the grains. Then (sparge) separate the spent grains from the sugary water (wort). Hi i'm AT i'm an all grain brewer from Ireland, so far i only brew ales but i'm looking for the inspiration to start brewing wines
