Are you a scuppie?

Post: # 91019Post ina »

Scuppie defined:

SCUP·PIE /skәp·e/ n. (Socially Conscious Upwardly-mobile Person)

1. A person who desires all the best life can offer and strives for those goals in a socially conscious manner.

2. One who is dedicated to the pursuit of peace, happiness and cash (not necessarily in that order).

3. Someone ‘green’ -- i.e. one who understands the love of money does not preclude the love of nature...and vice-versa.

'A person who desires all the best life can offer and strives for those goals in a socially conscious manner.'

Depends on your definition of 'the best'. The mentality of ishers (and lets face it, alot of us are mental) can't suit everybody. Each to his own I say, and the more 'green' you can be whilst doing it - great. W.

I think I am downwardly mobile (hows that for a definition?) but I would rather be Ish than rich. Just to have enough to pay the bills and live a life without to many worries is, in my book the good life.

ish and dowmwardly mobile here, and due to be put out of work later this year (not retirement) - - but I was never 'up' so where can i go down to? cardboard box mayhap?

I was listening to my usual saturday morning radio progs and one of the guests suggested that listeners would all be middle class - so I switched it off - as that it so obviously not me,
I was sooo angry that the man assumed that those that tuned in to the prog would not be of a 'working nature' - does he really assume that anyone not middle class is also uneducated and uninterested ? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :angryfire:

There's an amazing lot of people who do! Low income = no brains, in many minds.

I'm a wierdo. My habitat is Essex where I am started at on a daily basis for wearing either my wooly hat, wierd scarves, hippy handbag, poncho, toddler or a combination of the above. My preferred source of nourishment is anything laced with chilli, corriander, oregano and/or lemon and I can be found at my computer, sewing machine or sitting in my garden on a dis-used yoga ball, drinking tea and reading a book.
This position is subject to slight change during harsh weather conditions when I may be found in the garden, on my yoga ball but hiding under an umberella and wearing my wooly hat, wierd scarves, poncho, toddler or a combination of the above again.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very
ve-he-he-he-heryyyyyyy soooooooooooon!!!!

Who wants to be 'normal' anyway.
We personally don't want to live in a catagory! There are too many people these days who worry too much about how much money they earn, their job title and their status in life, :protest: we like our work mates to think of us as 'that odd couple, who grow veggies, have chickens and try to swap eggs for a bacon buttie'! (which incidentally does work!).
Stop the world we want to get off!!! :geek:
It's nice to be important,
But it's more important to be nice.
