Decided to have a go at a contemporary rewrite of Not waving but drowning. - (I know will keep to non fiction books and website in the future  )

It lay silent, the dead earth
And still it kept spinning
It was much more polluted than we thought
And not warming but dying

Poor Earth, always loved the living
And now it’s all dead
It must have had too much Co2 and it’s atmosphere gave up
They said

Oh, no no no, it was too warm always
(still the dead earth lay moaning)
It was buggered as soon as we came along
And not warming but dying.
First we sow the seeds, nature grows the seeds then we eat the seeds. Neil Pye

Interesting mate! I used to write poetry years a go. It once moved a girl to comment - ":Hmmm, this isn't half bad - more like 75%!"
