Wonderful weather!

Post: # 84226Post Shirley »

For the second day in a row it is remarkably warm up here in the north east of Scotland. No idea what the official temperature is, but it's outdoors and picnics and tshirt and shorts (well ok, I'll spare the world the sight of my legs)

Each day has started off VERY frosty but has warmed to what could pass for summer temperatures.

Wonderful - I'm making the most of it! The oystercatchers are back and are flying about... last year they were here slightly earlier and then we had snow! I love the sound they make when they are flying around... they make me think of spring.

Yes, it's lovely and sunny here too, though I'm stuck inside working. Curiously cold, but very sunny.
They're not weeds - that's a habitat for wildlife, don't you know?

it's been really lovely down here in Sussex again today - we're blessed with a sheltered spot, and I've only just come back indoors - been sitting reading in the sun - absolutely gorgeous, and very welcome! :dave:

It's still quite cold here in Surrey, about what I'd expect for this time of the year so pretty normal.

Re: Shirlz's legs. I'm sure they're beautiful, go show them off.

Wonderful? Not a chance. It should be cold with snow underfoot. Warm, sunny weather in winter freaks me out. It peaked at 15C here today and all the locals came out in their T-shirts.

This is February 12 last year...

I was talking to one of the local farmers on the weekend and he said that until about 10 years ago, there would have been deep snow on the ground for at least 10-12 weeks from just before Christmas until early March.

Sorry, but I can't welcome warm winters.

I do know what you mean... and as I typed I was wondering about the wildlife and the seasons etc.... but somewhat selfishly I'm still happy to see a day or two of warm sunshine

I remember the winters that you mention... and yes, I'd like to see more of them too.

Sorry, but I can't welcome warm winters.

In that case, I'll trade you mine!

Here in Wisconsin there's 2.5 feet of snow on the ground, with more falling as I type, and last night the windchill reached -27F, below zero!

Been lovely here and it's going to be for a few days yet, a welcome change from the pishing rain and gales, This couple of weeks in feb around valentines day has always been good on the west coast with high pressure and frost. We've got the high pressure but where's the frost :?

This is our wee wains yesterday and that mountain in the background (The Storr) should be covered in snow :?
