Sometimes your local market has a carpet man who sells off cuts cheap - thats where I bought my cushioned vinyl flooring - lordy that sounds posh! lol - it didn't cost much more than a tenner!

well that's good 'cos we spent this morning taking a recce of all the carpet shops we could get to by bus or on foot today and it was hopeless.
one was just a bit too expensive, the other 2 were extortionate.
I'll take a walk into town tomorrow. never thought of the market :D

I got a few packs of cork tiles and will be sticking them to Hardboard cut to fit the floor and sealing them, that way if i need to get under the floor it is easy to lift the hardboard sheet and replace it without damaging it.

You could also try your local pound shop - ours usually have packs of vinyl tiles for - erm - £1!! I did my hall with them and they've taken some stick over the past 3 years and I'm just considering something else now!
