I apologise in advance but...................

Post: # 1617Post Sue »

I'm really sorry to ask this - not a nice topic but...............
I have a small patch of garden which I have currently "built" a bit of wall around and it currently has gravel etc on. None of which is relevant but thought I'd share!
I discovered when the plumber came to put my water meter in that apparently my stop cock is under there so must dig it out and find that soon (never know when you may need it) whilst thinking about this I realsied this spot would be ideal to heighten the wall slightly and make it a SMALL veg or herb patch which is where we get to the but............
my neighbour informs me that the previous property owner had a large "butterfly" bush (I cut it down - rather than dig it out, a couple of years ago) under which he'd buried his beloved dog (dead I assume)
I'm really not wanting to dig there but it is a great spot and I need to tackle this.
Has anyone any ideas what I may or may not find (if he wrapped it or not)
ALSO - can I "bag it up" and take it to the tip?
ALSO - most important - would this have contaminated the soil so I can not eat what I plant? If so its pointless I suppose and I may as well pave it and grow in pots instead? :?
Sorry if I've upset anyone - but some questions just do that I guess

By the way Andy - great pasta hanger upper!!! thanks
:flower:

But to your question, I don't believe there is any danger from palnting food crops on top of the remains of a departed animal. If you have disturbed the soil and there is any likelyhood of parts of the remains coming to the surface, then I'd just be careful with salad crops, where the edible part could be soiled by splashes of soil. I would take the same precautions as are taken with using human manure for growing food. By the sound of it, the animal must have completely decomposed by now, as it is at least two years since it was buried.

Ah that will be our over active swearing filter at work. Dave and I have filtered a lot of words and I we obviously got over zealous with c.ock  You are right nev. We can actualy change it if people want.

I can't honestly remember what we filtered.

Sue's filtered version is a real gem in its new context - 'you never know when you might need it' .

Has anyone seen the joke story that made the internet a couple years ago on the spell checker? Unfortunately I don't have a copy, would love one if anyone still has it. It was a piece of text about spell checking, and all the spelling of that text itself was correct, but totally out of context like Sue's post, but very funny in its wrong context.

Each time you log in there is a tick box that says - log me in automaticaly, tick it and you are away.

I don't intend to change the filter it is a source of amusement, in fact there is one swear word that me and Dave keep swapping to translate as Dave or Andy

lets test it wanker

Right the filter is now off. We're all adults and I hate the idea of censorship anyway. If any parts of the forum sound like a turettes sufferer you know why!
