It's gonna taste great
Don't know how many of you would have seen it but, there is a new frosties ad out with a lad singing "it's gonna taste great" - This has been popping into my head whilst harvesting on the allotment. Certainly taste better than some sugar coated rubbish
ahem, just thought I would share that with... walks off with tumble weed flying benieth (spelling?) his feet.

I miss not having a tv - I loved the adverts (not taken in though - don't wear perfumes/make-up/drive cars/...). When I visit my mother in Spalding, I do try to watch as much tv as I can - love Casualty, CSI, watch the soaps... I can't live without Radio 4 though (The Archers - hope things work out for Oliver's locally produced milk, GQT, miss Home Truths,...)

Frosties Kid and the Wickerman
I was at the cinema the other day watching Nacho Libre and this bloody advert came on. There was no escape I had to watch it right up until the annoying little ****'s dance at the end.
This may be an exaggeration but I see this is as a sign of society's decline, first Barney the singing dinosaur now the Frosties kid. Is there no end to what is inflicted on us!??!
Speaking of which on 1st September the remake of the Wickerman will be released starring Nicholas Cage!!??!!
It's directed by Neil LaBute, an American Mormon who's directed other such “greatsâ€Â

I went to a wedding at the weekend when a Barney song (I love you, you love me...) was played during signing of the register. You'd have loved it Dave! No comment from me...
I the lack of adult virgin character because of it being a 'difficult subject'? How extremely sad.
I get cross when treated like an idiot when watching the news - getting ever more like Newsround used to be but at least it was meant for children...

I'm sorry - I really couldn't have kept a straight face at a wedding where they play that barney song

'difficult subject' - So it's fine to release a film called '40 year old virgin' but not include it in a remake of a film where it was an integral part of the original - grrrr.
You're right about the news too, I think Chris Morris's Brass Eye is becoming dangerously close to the trash they churn out on the rolling news programmes. Did you see the taxi driver that was interviewed by mistake? - he was believed to be the head of Apple - very funny.

Shirlz - it was extremely difficult to give the register-signing the solemnity it required - especially when my OH was turning red in attempt not to explode... When the bl**dy '7890 bicycles in bejing' song came on afterwards there was a palpable atmosphere of pure angst... (hope you know the song to which I refer - Katie Melua I believe).
Think it was meant to be sweet. Unfortunately I felt like I was at playgroup.
I agree with the brasseye prediction - ITV actually showed us where Lebanon is the the other day via a helpful globe - and I can't be bothered with the 'cute' story at the end of the main news - after serious world atrocities I am rarely in the mood to hear about a cat stuck in a tree - for the 14th time no less!! - saved by a friendly fire officer... and back to Sophie for the weather - 'shall we take umberellas out on Saturday Sophie??'
Aaggghhhhhhh!!!!!!! God I'm grumpy - 3 weeks without cigarettes that's my excuse...

oh dear!! I bet you did feel like you were at playgroup!!
I no longer watch the news on telly (if I do it's the bbc1 version) - I'd rather read the facts and not the tripe that they put in alongside it to up the viewing stats. I guess that the ... 'and finally' bit is supposed to take your mind off the fact that x-number of people have died, the ozone hole is getting bigger... the end is nigh.. etc etc that you have just seen on the programme... who cares about any of that if the cat has been rescued once again!! (at the expense of the tax payer btw) - and.. oh, just take a brolly with you or accept that you may or may not get wet.
No excuse for my rant... I stopped smoking years ago... keep it up, you really will feel better for it.

This thread is off on all sorts of tangents - suspect it is my fault (another consequence of quitting smoking I find appears to be distraction...).
Quit on 26th July with Matt - have since saved at least £125 between us!! Going on holiday in September because we can now afford it!!!
I feel a whole lot better - trying not to be dreadful smug ex-smoker but feel like leaping up and down with glee! 10 years of brainwashing and now I'm freeeee!!!!!
No more tobacco mosaic for our tomatoes

You go for it... leap up and down as much as you like and revel in the fact that you've got lots of extra energy as a result of kicking the weed into touch!! The extra money is a bonus too - enjoy the holiday
And it's not really off topic... because another plus point about giving up smoking is that you will be able to TASTE your food better - It's gonna taste great!!

Exactly Dave, it's particulay bad at the moment because the politicians are off playing crocket or something so the news people look for any story. I heard on the radio today a USA correspondent calling it August dog days, the press over there are going crazy about someone whose admitted to killing some little girl 10 years ago.Dave wrote: You're right about the news too, I think Chris Morris's Brass Eye is becoming dangerously close to the trash they churn out on the rolling news programmes. The point is our news is so despirate it's looking at what's making dog day news in the US!.
There is so much dumbing down it's unbelieveable. Has anyone heard radio 1's news, my god they must think there listerners are in kindergarden. (ahh my bad , of course that's exactly where they are!.)
Talking about films has anyone seen V for Vendetta yet, it's based on Alan Moore's graphic novels, although he isn't particually happy about the production we thought it was excellent. It has some excellent "brass eyeish" news all very 1984, but frightly right now in this country.
It's not easy being Cheezy
