I built a cob oven in May 2011 and it did really well to last up till last weekend when I took a hammer to it. It didn't have enough sand and it constantly got damp due to a lack of render and covered up with an old 1tn sand bag.
This weekend we rebuilt it using clay from the garden - though we bought the sand in from offsite. Everything else was recycled (bricks, chimney flue, firebricks etc)
We're intending to lime render it.

My friend Tiff Heaver sculpted the dragon, there's still more work to do when I get round to applying the lime render

Me too - I'm rubbish - We did our best to feed and water her during the day, and she kept apologising the entire time! Really looking forward to the finishing touches in a few weeks!diggernotdreamer wrote:I love this, always very in awe of people who are so artistic and can make stuff like this
