Pilot bread was made using poppy seeds. Seeds were blended with water until as fine as possible then added to whole wheat flour and made into a kneaded dough. The dough was made into fingerlings and baked on both sides to insure through cooking at 375 for 30 minutes on both sides. The fingerlings are hard and tasty, and may be softened if necessary by placing in the microwave for about 15 seconds. Storage time is about 14 days by keeping in the refrigerator, or at room temperature for some indeterminate period by vacuum packing.A nutritious replacement for supermarket bread.
