The Saturday was the raise - which was when four main beam-like structures were put into place to hold everything else up so there wasn't much actual intricate work to help out with. We all helped pull the ropes to lift it up though and all the men had various carrying/supporting jobs.
The second day was more about chiseling and joining in with what you could which was great. My boys have never been happier - it's just an area of woodland with ditches, trees to climb, little dens, wood to collect for the fire but its fenced in and totally safe. There is a nursery there during the week. That's what the shelter is being built for - the nursery.
We cooked and ate on/around the camp fire sitting on little tree stump seats. It was a bit hippy but very lovely and welcoming. I, and everyone I spoke to was pleasantly surprised at how much good was being done totally on a volunteer basis and the attitude of everyone there. Every got on and a fantastic job is being done.
We camped on the Saturday night which was also fun in itself. We are definitely going back to help out again
