Courgette flowers

Post: # 25539Post chadspad »

Hi all,
Have seen the recipe by Paul on the site for the courgette flowers with the cheese, fried Greek style - sounds different! Has anyone tried them? Would it work with pumpkin flowers too? Do you have to take the inside of the flower out du think? Might try them with my barbie at the weekend if theyre nice!

In answer to my own question and all of u who are interested, the courgette flowers were yummy! I placed some squares of cheese in them, rolled them in flour seasoned with pepper, curry and various herbs, then fried in butter until the flour was crispy. Delicious.....altho have to admit the flower tasted of nothing, it was just a carrier for the cheese and the flour!

I fried a flower the other day, with the rest of the courgette. I agree with you that the flower was quite tasteless, so maybe I should get more adventurous.

Yes, you can do the same recipes with them; batter and fry them , stuff them, etc, use as a garnish.
