Amazingly easy and tasty mushroom soup!

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Amazingly easy and tasty mushroom soup!

25g butter
25g flour
600ml chicken or veg stock
300ml milk
175g mushrooms
samt & pepper

Put all of these ingrediants in a pan. Bring to the boil, whisking. Simmer for 10 minutes. Done!

Made for a party recently and everyone has asked for the recipe, its delicious!! :thumbright:

I've made this once or twice although blended mine. Either way I agree the flavour is amazing. Mushrooms are not as cheap as they used to be (like everything). So far all attempts to grow them have failed but we chanced on a mushroom farm not so far away recently. Must go there.

Get some spent compost off them(should be free ,or V.cheap) Spread a layer about3'' deep in Greenhouse,frame,Tunnel,cloche or similar,and with luck you'll get agood crop of mushrooms(it only works once) when it's worked or or not,depending on how lucky you are,you'll have some great soil conditioner. BW

Mmm, mushroom soup!
The one I used to make had breadcrumbs in it which I wasn't fond of but OH was. New recipe = no breadcrumbs!
