Yep free is good. I've spent a lot of sunny days this last month with a broom and a lot of bags that I found sculling round the back of the garden shed walking up and down roads near the allotment. Result is 107 bags of leaves rotting down for leaf mould.
With no apologies for being off topic. Thank you both for wonderful posts. Made me smile and that can't be bad.
Treat the earth well, it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children.

Ah yes, it's time of year when we will be going up to some stables not too far away and loading up with about 50 bags of well rotted manure, that is there just for the asking. The council has also just delivered its free compost to our allotments, although we will have some of this as well, I'm not so keen on it as it has lots of little bits of plastic in it, or it did last year, which was the first year - hopefully they've improved on it.
sure is pelmetman, In the eyes of the law a public beach aparently belongs to the crown and local council so anything taken off the beach can be classed as theft, but as a citizen you have the right to forage with permission and if you are not making a profit from what you collect.
