Ithought about posting this in the news section (please move if you think it should be there) but I didn't want people who don't use the section to miss out.
I have stumbled onto this site:http://www.greatnewsnetwork.org/
It has news, important news, progressive news but most importantly GOOD news.
I hope it has been shared before but on the chance that it hasn't please look at the link and bask in some of the great work that is being done around the world, I am particularly interested in landfill mining in Belgium myself...
ETA: I sound a bit evangelistic, don't worry I am not tricking anyone into reading religious advertising! Its all very Ishy!
Finally... some good news!

Re: Finally... some good news!
This was from an episode of QI I saw recently " The best place in the UK to mine for gold is inside a mobile phone.
From a tonne of mineable ore you get 5 grams of gold. A tonne of mobile phones will give 150 grams of gold, 100 kilograms of copper and 3 kilograms of silver. 1.5 million mobile phones are thrown away each year.
The Japanese, where there are little natural resources, have cornered the market in eco-recycling, which includes getting gold from mobile phones and from sewage plants."
No wonder there are so many people who want us to donate old mobile phones.
