The Memsaab said that the rain here has made the weeding easier because the ground is soft. Not my department so can't comment.

Lucky you! (She says jealously).

We had a bit of rain during the night but the bucket under the downpipe only had about 2 inches in it this morning. We've had bits of rain over the last few weeks but it really hasn't been enough to make up for the lack of rain over the last few months.

I've never known my garden be so dehydrated.

Went round to the gp's today, only ten minutes away - it was drizzling when I left but then it bucketed down. It was then that I discovered that my waterproof mac is not waterproof! Was wet to my underwear by the time I got home! Had to strip off - frightened the cat!

Had lots of lovely rain yesterday which was great and had quite a lot earlier in the month too - the downside to lots of rain is weeds I don't normally have to contend with as it's hard to hoe them off when the ground is wet on the surface - I'm also seeing spring type weeds which we never see in late summer like hairy bittercress!

Though the biggest weed in my veg patch right now is hundreds of borage self seeding everywhere!

All our weeds have drowned now, .......... in fact, the surface water in our garden is above the level of water in our fishpond....... but then again i suppose it would be as our pond is at ground level
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.
