over the next few days I'll be carrying on crawling about in the innards of the site, trying to get it all functioning properly - so if you notice any strange things going on, don't worry - it's me!
ps, my presented elevated position is only "token" - I need it for access - nothing more - I haven't been elevated to archangel status!

During the last few hours, we lost the "quotes" facility - it's now back and working properly - if you find your "quoting" hasn't worked properly, just click on "edit", and just resubmit it - it should then work!

During the cleaning out etc., I updated to the latest version of phpbb, and optimised the database - the "quotes" problem was a now-recognised bug in the update, I've now amended the code, and it seems to be working fine!

LOL I would click on edit to right the quoting mishap I had - but my edit button has now gone awol!

hmmm ETA that its now back on new stuff, but missing on any old stuff. Ahhh the joys!

In the meantime, we now have proper mod control panels, a "watched topics" list, and the ability to restrict access to the members list - more to come!

I thought it wise to ask and get someone to help out, some of you may remember my efforts to do stuff in the past and ending up with critical errors all the time and no forum.

I am very greatful that Martin offered. (and to everyone else who did).

Actually - while you are in there... is there a control that will do the dishes for me while I'm typing on here??? Something, anything(?) to help with the housework etc???

But if so, can you live link the usernames? To send a PM, it's no prob if they are mods, but to PM everyone else is a hassle and you have to go hunting for them....
