It's still not always there - I have that problem, too, and have mentioned it several times when I couldn't edit. I thought it was just certain topics that didn't have it.

That is very odd, will have a look to how it is set up and see what I can do.

I think it's the situation in several sections of the forum, though I can't always tell now I'm a mod. I'm guessing that you might need to set certain preferences to allow people to edit their own posts.

As someone who is not a moderator I can state with all honesty that I still observe a X symbol in the far right of each of post that I am responsible for. I've since added an avatar (since all attempts tp upload my own were rejected, thanks to all for the advice: Muddy et al/.
I've noticed the problems but there doesn't appear to be a pattern (for example the other day I noticed that a particular avatar has been restored then days later it's disappeared. It seems to attack at will...)
I don't know what's happening with Hedgewitch but I'm getting that Alien + Plant avatar through loud and clear since the server change, although access at sometimes is a bit slower.
My input anyway.
BTW I've just edited this article thanks to dyslexic fingers.
And again, I simply give up on the italics thing.

I've noticed this before and so has Ina. If you do a search for the key words EDIT and INA you'll come up with a few things where Ina asks why she can't edit.

I don't know if it is in one or two particular sections or whether it is random though.
