ID help please !

I bought this at my sons school fayre last week. They said they thought it was a pumpkin but it doesn't look like my pumpkins. I thought maybe squash ?

I can certainly tell you one thing though, it's not a pumpkin or a squash .... no wait that's two things.

Yep, that looks identical to the sunflowers in my garden which, according to my label, are Helianthus annus 'Pastiche'.

I've got something that looks like sunflowers in my garden too but they aren't forming flowers... not sure whether they are sunflowers or jerusalem artichokes. Pic will follow.
