Do you bekieve in Karma?
I ask this because I think I do, but am worried because I have done a mean thing! I have had my nephew staying with me - rent free - for 18 months, and have just had to ask him to leave. I have found out he has been lying about staying here, saying he has been paying £50 a week - I wish-! Anyway, yesterday he took some of his stuff and went to his fathers house. Today I have packed the rest of his belongings into black bags, putting one shoe in each! What will happen to me? I would love some unbiased advice. My family just say I should have done much worse!! I feel really let down by him. pbf.

i believe in karma ( ask my sister bridezilla
)
i wouldnt worry too much though, i think karma has already happened, you let him live with you rent free, he boasted saying he was paying and you asked him to go, its only fair. he lied you didn't. i can see his situation getting a bit worse for a while ( not evil just uncomfortable) its nothing to do with you it was his doing and you did what was appropriate.
nothing bad will happen and maybe your 'guilt' / worrying is karma enough ?

You've not done a bad thing, you've taught him there are consequences to lying and that you should pay rent, I don't think he would have got very far without learning that! I don't quite get the one shoe in each bin bag, was that revenge? If so I must be quite a chaotic packer, that doesn't sound too bad to me
- bad would have been if you'd cut one leg off all his trousers or taken a hammer to his Wii or something.
I go more by the rule of three than karma (whatever type of energy, good or bad, you put out into the world comes back to you threefold) - I think you're ok though

Not sure about the karma thing. But if it is real, thank your lucky stars you acted as you have done - otherwise you'd come back next time as a doormat

Maggie that's so funny
. I think you've done absolutely the right thing and I hope by the one shoe in each bin bag thing you mean you have hidden the matching shoe somewhere else so he'll have to come and grovel to you to get them back (and maybe pay you some back rent!).

Well, it looks as though those who do believe in karma think you did the right thing. So, from one who thinks karma is just a word, here's a little extra - you did the right thing. Although, had it been me, there would have been one shoe in a bag and the other in the bin. But maybe I'm vindictive
.
Stop worrying about it - you did the correct family thing and then you took action when it became obvious that someone was taking you for a ride. Absolutely correct on both counts and more power to your elbow.

I believe in karma, and I think you earned yourself some good karma. You generously provided your nephew with room and board, and you instructed him in honesty and responsibility. Way to go!

Thankyou all so much!! I am feeling better about it this morning, and just hearing views from "friends" on here I find really helps get things in perspective. I have decided not to waste anymore time thinking about him! pbf.
