Gites in Vendee or somewhere similar?

Post: # 196414Post Mal »

Hi there,

We're looking to take the Family Mal (2 adults, 2 under 4's) on holiday this year (woo hoo!), and are thinking about the Vendee - primarily for the weather, plus the (relative) closeness, plus we want to go abroad, plus we really want to be at the seaside.

Anyway, I was trying to fathom out the eurocamp/siblu websites (fixed caravans, but a bit nicer than that sounds, if you haven't heard of them), but it was difficult to work out their sites, and then they started charging extra for you know, cot, high chair, chairs for sitting on your decking, bed linen etc., and as the cost escalated I started wondering about hiring a Gite instead.

Does anyone run such a thing, or know of the best site for looking on to find one? There are so many sites out there! Any other holiday suggestions (Mrs Mal has told me in no uncertain terms that camping in a tent for 2 weeks is out of the question!)?

Thanks for your help

There is a member on here who has gites in that area. I have pm-ed you their website - not sure what the rules are for posting in threads - not sure if it is allowed as advertising.

Try looking at the google ads on the side in this thread! Gites galore.

AF - I know who you mean and it's probably best to keep his name quiet not so much for advertising rule reasons, more that he might not want his name mentioned regarding his gites on the open forum as I'm not sure whether he has them in his signature or not.

However Chadspad's parents have a B&B in the Vendee, might not be what you are looking for but she does put it in her signature so I'm sure won't mind me mentioning it.
