I had a friend say to me the other day 'Oh I found this really interesting website that you must look at, its all about being as self sufficient as you can with what you have.'

You guessed it, she was referring to 'Ish' . I don’t tend to go on about my website choices any more than I go on about being a vegetarian, people start to think you are trying to convert them from their decedent ways and its not worth the agro so it was really nice that she was so interested in the site. I think after being on here a while I am starting to get attached enough to feel pride if someone says they like it. lol

I am trying to get her to join the forum so fingers crossed she will join us soon

I was reading a book not long ago called Make Do and Mend, and in it was mentioned the instructions for making a haybox...i read them and thought it sounded interesting. The next line was 'from www.selfsufficientish.com...then it dawned on me...they'd used the real name of the person who made it, not their username so i didn't recognise them!

I forgot to mention before that on one of my many trips down to Manchester, earlier this year, we stopped of at a rather up-market motorway services somewhere in the Lake District, I think. On prominent display, amongst some extremely expensive wellies, scarves, gardening tools etc was a copy of the Ish Bible.

I think they've missed the point! We giggled like schoolgirls
