Do radiators need special paint?

My radiator needs painting, does anyone know whether special radiator paint is necessary or can I just use some leftover satin paint?

I've never found them to need the special stuff, so long as they're primed.

Naw, mine are all emulsioned to match the walls!

Ours have all been emulsioned - and I think it would be fine as long as they are painted when cold, and then painted once.... ours have about 5 coats of different colours on them from the previous folks - and although they get REALLY hot from the stanley, they're not exactly radiating any more.... so, we either start stripping them back, or over time, we get new efficient ones installed.

I've always used the spray radiator paints, so we might strip & repaint - and don't forget that a silver foil backing on the wall behind will help the heat to reflect back into the room - and if you put it on right, you won't have to paint that bit either!!
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden

Ouch, oooh, ooh. Just tested one of mine that's painted with emulsion to match the walls and I can definitely say, IT'S HOT.
