its a painting by a mexican artist called beatriz aurora. i have a reproduction poster of this one that i bought at a freedom street party for a squat in barcelona a few years ago. i also have a bigger one of a scene in chiapas that is on the wall in baby's room, she loves all the bright colours! i havent been able to source anymore of her work but one of the posters has her email address at the bottom so i messaged her yesterday and she said she would send me some in the post, all the way from mexico! i feel very honoured! this image i posted is called 'hasta un nuevo amanecer', which means 'to a new dawn'. Its a play on traditional images of the Virgin Mary with child, with a Zapatista woman (probably from Chiapas) and her child. The white lily is the national flower of mexico. I absolutely LOVE this picture. it hangs over my bed in a frame.

I've just had a quick look on a web site of her art - they are beautiful! I'd rather like a pic for in my kitchen!
