Salut !

I cannot claim to be very self-sufficientish. But I am suffering from a surfeit of cherries, which are overlapping the strawberries while the raspberries are just coming in. The overwinter crops (broad beans and spinach) were destroyed by the three weeks when the temperature did not go above zero. That did for the cherry fly as well - great: cherries without wrigglies.

Goody another Frenchie - hello! I'm bravely  working my way through umpteen kgs of strawbs but thankfully the raspbs haven't started yet and my cherries won't be ripe until July (not the red ones sadly).

I'm not really a Frenchy. I escaped from Cambridgeshire nearly 20 years ago.

Le Grand Pressigny is a bit self sufficientish - the last time there were major transport strikes in France with reports from the big cities of panic and starvation, we did not really notice it here. One problem with the locals is that although they grow a lot, they do not grow a lot of varieties. They are astonished that we do not grow green beans, but in a few weeks I expect the customary sacs of green beans on the doorstep - that is much easier than growing them.

No I meant a non French person living in France - often called Frenchies on forums that aren't about France!

Round here people grow spuds, leeks, haricot vert, lettuce, toms and sometimes pumpkins. Boring boring!
