Hi from Hampshire :)

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hi from Hampshire :)

Post: # 152952Post Alonicus »

Hi Everyone !

Sean here, from "sunny" Hampshire. I wouldn't describe myself as greatly self-sufficient, but I do try !

As you can see from my avatar, I'm a complete cat lover.... my wife insists I've got some kind of in-built catnip

Currently, I've got a very small but fairly productive garden. I get flak for the fact that nothing I grow has pretty flowers, but most of it is edible. Most successful are a large pot of wild strawberries and a rosemary bush that produces industrial quantities, least successful is the asparagus. The fig tree will eventually produce more than two figs (I hope !), but it's still young. The good news is that fairly soon, we're moving house to somewhere with a bigger garden which already has a well-established vegetable patch and greenhouse.... I can't wait ! Green fingers run in the family, let's hope I've inherited the gene that does it......

SusieGee wrote:Hello from sunny Wales. I'm sure the green finger genes will out when you get your bigger garden! Well done with the two figs, I dream of any at all, mine is consistently unproductive, not sure why I still bother with it! :salute:
Ditto, even in 'sunny' (ha ha) Brittany where it a bit warmer (sometimes) than Wales! I suppose the leaves are fairly pretty.....
